Pastors AND their wives already seeing transformation from our Pastors In Training (PIT) Program!
Our “PIT” Program focus?
“Building Fierce Leaders for the Lost World”
showing a heartfelt and powerful intensity
We’re passionate about having heartfelt and powerful leaders in our city…and we have just the recipe to achieve that!
In just two and one half weeks….
our three Charlotte Pastors nominated for the complimentary PIT package, are experiencing transformation. So are their wives! We wanted the wives joining in so we could infuse well-th into the family, not just the individual. Wives can be the best support system and let’s face it, the ones typically doing the food planning and shopping week to week. Thankfully, they all jumped at the opportunity. It’s been a blessing and a joy to serve these three families the last few weeks.
Our first week together…
we took each couple through an extensive goal setting exercise. Then, goals were partnered with our findings from multiple assessments to create individual Pastor Care Plans. Each goal was clearly defined along with mini milestones to get to those goals. Here at MissionFIT, we take goal-setting very seriously. If we don’t know what we need to achieve or have a plan for getting there, we’ll struggle to find success.
Our second week together…
we started to move! Game on! Last week we started our physical training session as well as working toward our first mini milestones. Each class, usually held at the Pastor’s home, consists of the following:
- Heart-N-Soul Training
- Cool Down
- Wellness/Nutrition Teaching
Our Heart-N-Soul training…
is structured around stress management from a spiritual aspect.
Our fitness movement…
is structured around functional movement that transitions into everyday life. Our workouts are scalable – up or down. We fit the workout to our Pastors’ level, no matter the level at the start of the program.
Our wellness/nutrition teaching…
is different every time. We give a short teaching on each topic but refer each family back to their 75 page FUEL Manual with all the nerdy details. Everyone retains only so much information at one time. In addition, Pastor families receive a gift. This gift relates to some fitness aspect from the day, specific goal they are working towards, or wellness/nutrition topic that day.
The end of each week…
we review individual weekly milestones for accountability. Hit a milestone? Get a smiley face. If not, we dig in deeper with them to find out more and create another way to reach that goal.
So, the BIG question…..
How is Brent, Ken and Theo doing?!?!?!?!
In short – AMAZING!
In more detail:
Pastor Brent of Abundant Life Church…
is our “over-achiever” in the group. The homework from week 1 was just to get set-up with certain items and tasks to hit the ground running the following week and start hitting some milestones. Brent, extremely motivated, hopped right to it and by week 2 (our first week of physical workouts), he had already lost 2 pounds! Nutrition is on point and his water intake is way up!! Can we say “teacher’s pet”? Lol. And it couldn’t have been better timing to start increasing his water since last weekend he spent building a “church in a day” in this dreaded Carolina heat!
Pastor Ken of Church at Charlotte….
came into our program in great cardio shape, as he’s an avid runner and biker. According to Coach Kelsey’s 3 year old, “he’s like Lightning McQueen”. However, bodyweight movement and weights partnered with that cardio is a bit of a new ball game, but is becoming a new found love. He’s competitive, learns movement easily, gives his all ALLways, and NEVER gives up!!! This is the guy that was probably always picked first on the elementary school kickball team in P.E. 😉 #anatural His humbleness and eagerness to learn is inspiring.
And last but not least, Pastor Theo, our CMPD Chaplain…
Theo just lights up the room when he walks in! His bright smile, hilarious personality, and highly motivated and dedicated attitude makes him a joy to coach. Contrary to Ken, Theo has spent much of his time lifting, more bodybuilding type movements. However, that weight lifting now partnered with bodyweight movement and metabolic conditioning (cardio) is rocking his world….in a great way! The drive in him is always asking for more but he seems perfectly content by the end of his workouts. Hehe.
Please continue to pray for these Fierce Leaders. Pray:
- They would stay focused and continue to meet their milestones on their way to their goals.
- That they would become FiT (Faithful in Training) leaders for their flocks.
- That the enemy would not deter them.
- That they would continue to transform into the best, most strongest and fierce versions of themselves so they can serve You, Lord, to the fullest and lead their flocks to the fullest.
