Your Health Matters
There are a few reasons why your health matters. The first and most obvious is that you should care about your own health. Think about it.. You care how look when you go out of the house. You want your house to function well or you wouldn’t fix the broken things.
“Decisions Match Destinations”
Maxwell describes what he means in this “Minute with Maxwell”. So, say you have a goal of doing one strict pull-up. Doesn’t sound very hard, does it? But if you have never been able to do a pull-up without the help of a step, band or jumping to the bar, then you know the struggle to achieve this goal. By creating and sticking to a plan to train, build strength and practice pull-ups, you can reach your goal. But it will take time. And it will take work.
God Cares, Too
Pastor Brian explains another reason your health matters: You are not your own (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). That’s right! Paul explains to the Corinthian church, both a body of believers in Christ (1 Corinthians 3:16) and believers in Christ individually, that they were redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. Because of that, they belong to God. In addition, as a response to that truth, they should love God with all their heart, all their mind, all their soul and all their strength. Five Fold Fitness of MissionFiT
How we should love God fits in with the MissionFiT message of being Faithful in Training. By keeping ourselves healthy mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally and socially, we can follow the word of God in Romans 12:1-2 and offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, wholly and acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service.
So take some time and listen in to Pastor Brian’s message “Health Matters“. Watch for his interview with Coach K about 20 minutes into the message and be reminded of how important your health is to you, to your family and to God.
