This Testimony Tuesday we celebrate athlete Sandy Morgan. Strong and courageous are the words we’d use to describe this wonderful woman of God.
My name is Sandy Morgan…
I am 51 years old and have been married for 27 years with three sons–Griffin (22 years old), Seth (19 years old), and Ty (16 years old). We are a very active family–two boys played soccer beginning in preschool, one played baseball and I have always worked outside the home; currently as an Administrative Assistant for Carmel Baptist Wee School. My strength is probably also my weakness–I’m a perfectionist! When I take on a task I have very high expectations for myself. My passion is my family…I want my family to be a family who loves the Lord and wants to serve Him. I have been in Christian leadership – Women’s Ministry Director.
When I think of my fitness journey, the three words that come to mind are
“baby steps accomplished”
I slowly changed my eating habits (stopped junk food) and included vitamins, then gradually increased my exercise routine to 5 times a week. In relation to my fitness journey, a specific triumph is coming each day and completing the class which gives me a feeling that I accomplished a goal. Changing types of food I eat is the hardest area, followed closely by exercise soreness.
Aside from personal relationships…
I’m motivated to be healthy and feel good about myself. I want to have more energy to do day-to-day things and serve my community. My three sons are my primary support system together with constant encouragement from my MissionFiT Coach. When I think of the connection between faith and health, I focus on the Bible which states that our bodies are our temples and it’s important to be in good health, so I can accomplish what the Lord has for me to do.
My investment in wellness and fitness…
has taught me a lot about myself. I can see how being healthy affects how and what I can do. When I eat healthy and exercise, I feel better about myself and am more motivated.
