Team member, Dale Fletcher of Faith and Health Connection had the wonderful privilege of teaching on spiritual risk factors at the Ethiopian Evangelical Church of Charlotte, pastored by Israel Gebeyehu a few weeks back.
Pastor Israel is a dear friend that we met through our service at Project 658 last year. We have continued to connect and are starting to serve his church body directly now.
In Dale’s teaching on the 25th, he focused on the following spiritual risk factors for poor health and their corresponding biblical principles:
Spiritual Risk Factors:
- Worry, anxiety and fear
- Bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness
- Self indulgence
- Self effort (in making behavior changes)
Biblical Principles:
- Trust God more completely
- Forgive others
- Honor God with your body
- Live by the power of the Holy Spirit
